Matcha tea is traditionally prepared by mixing one bamboo spoonful of Matcha powder with a little water to make a paste in a bowl. Then, pour about 60 ml of warm water (70-80 degrees) over it. Do not use boiling water, as this will cause a bitter taste and the antioxidant properties will be lost. Whisk the Matcha with the water in a bowl using a bamboo whisk until a nice foam forms. To make a matcha latte: Froth about 150 ml of milk of your choice. Put two bamboo spoons of Matcha tea powder in a bowl (through a sieve). Add 60 ml of warm water at 75-80 degrees. Whisk this for 15 seconds with a bamboo whisk. Pour the matcha into a cup or glass and add the frothed milk. Optionally, add some honey or agave syrup and enjoy!
